Hi Mark,
This site is not affiliated with the old site, the previous owner let the domain drop and we picked it up.

where my post go?? the least you can do is let the people know where the original site went, you have all right to do what your doing here, what you dont have right to do is ruin years of work to get the other site to what it is today by "pretending" the other site dosent exists anymore, this isnt a competition or a "game" its simply just let the people who have made friends and who have been helped make a choice for themself

All i have to say is WTF i joined up back in 2007 and i was the first to crack the 1000 post mark i also put alot off time and effort into alot off DIY articles and the previous site has alot off my friends and alot off history about me and my cars.

I was a financial member and i contributed to the site and drove around with the sticker on the back window to advert it and now it dissapeared and its back and the only thing i get is ( Under new management) with no history off the other site what so ever.

Me and Holden4life both loved the old site and all we want is some answers and some credibility because we both contributed alot to the site.

All i hope now for this site is that it does the same right things the old site did for Vl and Holden enthusiasts because right now from what i am seeing is just plain wrong.

I know it probably doesn't mean much to you right now how we all feel but VLcalais.com.au wasn't just some site it was a virtual home to people who wanted to meet other people and share there enthusiasm for cars and they did that with courtesy and respect to all members regardless of age, sex, race and what they drive. I hate having to be b**ting about all off this but i Loved that site.

So please don't try to to make it as if the original site never existed its a real shame that the old site is now dead with all off our posts and pics and history and do the right thing and try to do the right thing. You will find that even though this site is now the www.vlcalais.com.au website it will take alot off hard work and time and effort to make it anywhere near as good as the old site was.

Treat your members well and get info from them on what they want then you will find you will have alot off members oneday and hopefully all off the old members will register again. Please take my advice its for the best for this site.

Let me make a nice suggestion if you need help with the site then Holden4life was a Moderator or Admin on the old site he might help you out with running this site. If you need more help i used to own my own site and know the pros and cons about what to do if you need help.

I said what i had to say and as much as it hurts to see the old site gone and now where back to square one i am willing to help this site out by helping out so just Pm me if you need help.

My first suggestion is fix the post edit because at the moment you cannot play with anything like Font size or bold or colour or even edit what you have all ready posted.

Add more profile options so that the user can make a profile in there control panel so that other members see when they click on the users name instead off introduce yourself.

I would also suggest starting alot more topics i know its only the first stages off this site but its only a few tips.

I've fixed up the edit post function and I'll be working on more expandable/customisable profiles next.

If you let me know what features and functionality you're after, or even any other changes you would like made, I'll try my hardest to get them all in.

I've done the site completely from scratch, so I can build/add in any custom features you think would be helpful for the community :)

Cool when you get around to it i suggest adding a turbo and v8 section so that you can talk about those to in seperate sections. Also add a DIY section so that we can re-make old articles about how to fix or mod this and that.

Its also a good idea to add a section for cars which are not vl's so that they dont clutter up the site with Fords and mitsubishi's and toyota's in the sections that should be Holdens and Vl's.

Forgot to mention that the private messages are not available and that its a good idea to set those up so members can pm other members and site management like you and your site moderators if they have any ideas or complaints.

Not sure if you agree with this but you should make some fair site rules for all members so that you dont get fights started on here or people re-posting the same questions over and over again and using up the sites memory on same topics that have previously answered. A search engine would be a good idea so that they know where to search for example (How to convert rb30e to rb30et) which gets asked alot and in that case you can choose to give them a link or explain it or simply say DO A SEARCH and then lock the topic or delete it.
