Originally I bought this VL on ebay as a stock standard non turbo VL Calais Auto. Traveled all the way to victoria to pick her up. At that time i only seen photos of it, i was in for a surprise. The photos lied alot, and the owner didn't tell me all its faults until i went to pick it up (there were alot).

(photo of it on ebay)

As Soon as i got it home i began to strip it and begin to rebuild it. It was already re-sprayed and looked awesome the paint-job.

Dirty Interior. This is what i had to work with so i made the most of it and pulled it all out and cleaned it up so it looked new from factory with the modern essentials added.

Then i began Rust proofing the car and adding body deadener to help eliminate the Road Noise.

I was Happy with the result i got and no it didn't weigh the car down 100kg lol.

New Wheel. Dw i got the sunglasses holder in the boot i was finishing hooking up the headunit.

Next thing to do was pull everything else apart and give it a clean replace broken bolts and remove any surface rust.

First pulling it apart and cleaning it.

The Boot. Took a few days rust proofing and applying more body deadner to the boot.

Result.

New Garnish

new Exhaust and Tip & Venetians.

Thats The Rear Done.

The Front

Was Pretty Dirty. The Pop Up Motor had Seized Up and needed to be replaced.

Clean half Way there.

Finish

Rolling on new Shocks, Springs, and brakes the car felt alot more better. and actually was cleaning up to being a very nice car.

Then i got a set of VY SS 18" Rims.

[Note exhaust was done after those photos.]

In the future i want to turbo this clean streeter

Thanks for reading

Regards Travis.

Nice job! Love the darker blue vl's.

Pitty the seller lied about the car. Happened with my first car, which was a VL berlina, Told me everything in the dash worked fine, i didn't get the car registered for a few months, Turned out the fuel meter and odometer did not work.

yeah man, it looks all good but when you look closer you find heaps of fault, mine had chopped springs which were horrible changed those straight away and lots of electrical problems. i had to buy new pop up motor, electric windows switch headlights etc. if i have to give anyone advice, check the car really good check everything don't be afraid to haggle them down for faults, you don't want to by something thats going to cost you anther $5000 making safe.
